CGI and IQGeo team up to drive change for UK fibre and utility operators

Cambridge, 15 September 2021 - IQGeo (AIM: IQG), a developer of geospatial productivity and collaboration software for the telecoms and utility industries, today announced an exciting new integration and delivery partnership with CGI to support a smooth, more efficient roll out of fibre across the UK.

The new partnership will see CGI and IQGeo work closely together, combining their complementary expertise, technology and market presence to help fibre and utility network operators meet ambitious network expansion and business transformation objectives.

CGI will provide installation and integration services for IQGeo’s geospatial software, in addition to a broader suite of consulting and business process optimisation capabilities. This will support large and local telecoms operators installing fibre within their communities.

Ian Dunbar, Vice President, Communications & Media, CGI in the UK, said: “The fibre and utility markets are highly competitive and network operators must hone their processes and services if they want to remain relevant. Inventory accuracy drives new customer acquisition and optimises maintenance of existing customer services. Access to accurate and up to date inventory is fundamental for all decision support systems used by field and back office staff, delivering efficiencies and optimising costs.

“With IQGeo’s enterprise geospatial software, combined with CGI’s digital transformation and implementation best practice, we can help overcome these significant challenges. Detailed strategic planning, accurate cost modelling and data quality improvements help our shared customers transform both network productivity and profitability.”

Christian Wirth, General Manager for Europe at IQGeo said: “We are very pleased to expand our already successful relationship with CGI to the UK. As with network operators around the world, UK organisations are experiencing dramatic technology change with fibre and 5G deployments and utility grid modernisation.

“Our suite of specialised geospatial applications are designed to meet these challenges and when combined with the consultation and delivery capabilities of CGI, provide network operators with the support they need to quickly and efficiently deploy new technology and processes. I see the partnership with CGI as an excellent match that will provide tremendous value to our customers.”

CGI has existing partnership agreements with IQGeo in North America and Europe. The new relationship builds on this strong foundation to support telecoms and utility network operators across the UK.
